The Clear Lake School Board will meet in special session tonight (Wednesday, July 29) to approve a “Return-to-Learn” plan for the 2020-21 school year.

Earlier this month Superintendent Doug Gee gave an overview of three different learning options: totally online, a hybrid of online and class time, or totally back in school.

Jill Ann Miller, 64, of Clear Lake, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2020, at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, 1310 Highway 18 West, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Chris McComic officiating.

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, attendees are asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing as able.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Clear Lake’s Parks Board reviewed an early draft of rules and regulations for the new Sea Wall/City Dock Wednesday, at the request of the City Council.

Former Clear Lake Chamber, EDC leader found dead

Former Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development leader David Collins has died.

Police found Collins dead in his Washington, Iowa home after being requested to check on him just before noon on Wednesday, July 22.  No foul play is suspected.

Collins moved to Washington in 2018 to become the director of the Washington Economic Development Group.
