Lynn Markay Harris, 70, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in Mason City.

Per Lynn’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service for Lynn will be held at a later date.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Lewy Body Dementia Association, www.lbda.org, or North Iowa Humane Society.

Owner accused of abuse sues

One chapter of a bizarre pet adoption case has ended, but another has opened.

Last week a Cerro Gordo County magistrate judge ruled in favor of a Jewell, Iowa man whose dog was confiscated by Patriots for Pets Coordinator Debbie Kern, of Clear Lake.  This week Kern and the Patriots for Pets organization were sued by Justin Deppe, seeking attorney fees and an unspecified amount in punitive damages for pain and suffering.
