    Thanks to the care and generosity of the Clear Lake community, the Engage! Winter Outerwear Drive was a huge success.  During the month of November donation boxes filled to overflowing with coats, gloves, hats, scarves, boots and snowpants.  Then on the Saturday morning of Christmas by the Lake it was all offered to our neighbors in need.

No contested races in Clear Lake or Ventura for General Election

There were no contested races in either Clear Lake or Ventura for the Tuesday, Nov. 8 General Election.    
    In Clear Lake, incumbents Mike Callanan and Terry Unsworth were returned to the council.  They will be joined by newcomers Dana Brant and Jim Boehnke.

Departments team up to stop field fire

150 acres destroyed

 

    A large field fire charred more than 150 acres of farmland Monday afternoon, Oct. 10.
    The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to a report of a large field fire at the intersection of 310th Street and Cardinal Avenue.  The fire began racing through a big field of CRP at 12:19 p.m., endangering cattle and a residence.   A quick attack by local fire departments in the area contained the blaze and no property, other than the value of the

New fire station celebrated

    “Welcome to YOUR Clear Lake Fire Station,” Fire Chief Doug Meyers told hundreds attending a special dedication ceremony Saturday.  “It is dedicated to all of us that call Clear Lake our home.”
