Improvements planned for CL State Park

    The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Natural Resource Commission (NRC) has approved $166,128 worth of improvements for Clear Lake State Park. 
    The project, approved by the NRC at its Jan. 17 meeting, includes upgrading eight campsites to full hookup sites.  The improvements will provide sewer, water and electricity to campsites 95-101, as well as the host site at the campgrounds.

Overwhelming support shown for Bowling for Blake Bowl-A-Thon

     Approximately 700 adults and students turned out during the holiday break for the Bowling for Blake Bowl-A-Thon, held in memory of former Clear Lake High School teacher, Blake Lobdell.  The event was held at the Rose Bowl in Mason City on Dec. 26-28.

Council approves funding for NI Corridor group

    The Clear Lake City Council gave its approval Monday night to a multi­year funding agreement with the  North Iowa Corridor EDC (NICEDC).  The group replaces the former Clear Lake Economic Development, which has dissolved.

Group celebrates completion of Ventura Marsh project

    A job well done. 
    That was the message as the completion of the Ventura Marsh Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project was celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 1.  A ribbon cutting was held at the site of the $5 million project. The marsh restoration project was a partnership between the IDNR and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
