Plans readied for sanitary sewer rehabilitation project

The Clear Lake City Council reviewed preliminary plans and received an estimate of cost and work schedule for its 2015 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Monday.

Jason Petersburg, of Veenstra & Kimm, told the Council the project, which will occur in seven stretches of sanitary and storm sewer lines stretching over 5,000-feet in the community, is expected to come in within the $300,000 the city budgeted for the work.  He estimated the project cost as $298,025.

Clear Lake was officially declared iced in by the Clear Lake Water Department on Monday, Nov. 17, two weeks earlier than normal, but the one and one-quarter inches of ice is far from ready to be invaded by hundreds of ice anglers.

Air Choice One releases flight schedule and fare

 Air Choice One, the new airline serving the Mason City Municipal Airport, has announced its fares and flight schedule.
 “Air Choice One attributes its success to its simple pricing structure. Unlike other airlines’ variable pricing structure, the hometown airline has set fares,” explained Cassie Davison, from the Air Choice One Marketing Department.

Council sets public hearing for Kwik Star

The Clear Lake City Council will hold a public hearing May 18 regarding a development agreement with a Wisconsin-based company who is planning to construct a new convenience store and truck center. 

Kwik Star/Kwik Trip expects to break ground this week on a $10 million project on Highway 122, just east of Interstate 35.
