Larry Charles Munn, 80, of Clear Lake, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021, at his home.

Per Larry’s wishes, his body has been cremated and an inurnment will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel, Iowa.

Larry was born June 14, 1940, the son of Daniel and Bessie (Tunning) Munn, in Mason City. He married Marjorie Marie Reed on June 23, 1962, in Riceville.

Geraldine Hess

Geraldine “Geri” Hess, 92, of Peoria, Az., formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at her home in Arizona.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at St. Patrick’s Church, in Clear Lake. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, in Clear Lake. Service times will be announced at a later date.

Remember When 4-7-2021

Billy Roy Howard, 86, of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020, at his home in Clear Lake. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Mark Dobel officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868.

Mohawks sweep girls tennis team

Mason City swept the Clear Lake Lions in the opening meet for the girls tennis team.  The Mohawks claimed all six singles and three doubles matches for a 9-0 score.
