The Lions competed in their final meet of the regular season Thursday, Jan. 28, against one of North Iowa’s premier teams.  For the second time this season Lake Mills was the victor, however Coach Evan Johnson said he saw improvement which should serve the Lions well as the post-season begins Saturday.

Lake Mills posted a 52-16 win.

Vaccine supply gets a boost, but demand still outweighs it

The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine continues across the state as more of the population completes their first round of vaccinations.

“It’s really hard to believe that just 46 days ago not a single dose of vaccine had even arrived in Iowa yet,” said Governor Kim Reynolds on Wednesday, Jan. 27. “Since then, more than 200,000 vaccines have been administered in Iowa.”

High school students get to cheer on their team

Clear Lake High School students made the most out of their first opportunity this season to cheer on their team Thursday night.

According to school officials, high school students may now attend varsity basketball games. However, Clear Creek Elementary and Clear Lake Middle School students are not allowed to attend high school games at this time unless they are on the spectator list with an adult.

City okays rezoning for Sunset School

Clears way for private school to expand

The Clear Lake City Council unanimously approved a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission Monday night to re-zone the former Sunset School building.
