Francis Anthony Mishak, 83, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the IOOF Home in Mason City.

A private family service will be held Friday, April 24, 2020, at Ward-Van-Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N 4th St, Clear Lake.

Burial will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

TRI Clear Lake Triathlon moves to September

The TRI Clear Lake Triathlon announced last week that it will be changing the date of the event to Saturday, Sept. 4. A virtual option will also be available for those unable to attend this year’s date.  The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 4th Annual TRI Clear Lake Triathlon sanctioned by USA Triathlon.

Iowa Schools to stay closed

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds said Friday that schools will not reopen and that all springs sports in the state are canceled. The state said an announcement on summer sports will be made by June 1.By July 1: Iowa schools must provide Return to Learn plans to state (May include summer school)The mandatory school start date in late August is waived, so schools may begin the 2020/2021 school year early.
