Early deadlines in effect next two issues

Early deadlines will be in effect for the next two issues of the Mirror-Reporter.  Due to Wednesday holidays, the newspaper will be delivered on Tuesdays, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.  Deadlines for both issues are the preceding Friday.  Social news and display advertising is due by noon, with all other news and classified advertising due by 3 p.m. on Fridays.

Wesley “Little Mister” Dean Bartz, infant son of Dustin Bartz and Jaylee Follmuth, peacefully passed on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, in Iowa City.

A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapels, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Scott Huntley, 62, of Glendale, Az., formerly of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, in Glendale.

Florence Arlene Barber, 95, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at her home.

Per Arlene’s wishes, her body has been cremated, and an inurnment will be held at Clear Lake Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Arlene’s family.

Arlene was born Dec. 11, 1924, the daughter of Harvey and Blanche (Sission) Wood, in Mason City. She married Dr. Sterling Barber on March 7, 1948, in Clear Lake. He preceded her in death in 1971.
