City Council approves purchase of new ambulance

The Clear Lake City Council has approved the purchase of a new ambulance for the city’s fire department.  The new unit, which will cost the City $204,867, will replace a 2002 unit purchased used from the City of Garner in 2009.  CLFD Chief Doug Meyers told the Council that unit has been out of commission for 48 weeks due to the lack of available parts needed for repairs.

Dean Snyder Construction (DSC), of Clear Lake, will celebrate 60 years of hard work, customer service and quality results, with an open house Sunday, Aug. 19. The public is encouraged to stop at the business between 3 and 6 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 15) and visit with the Snyder family and tour the building and newest addition, Atura Architecture.

  DeVries was wrapping up a 12-year playing career in the National Football League when Clemons, the Detroit Lions’ assistant coach, predicted DeVries’ post-playing plans.
