Remember When October 28, 2015

(Above) 1133rd send-off in 1990 - 

North Iowans lined County Road B-35 (old Highway 106) from the National Guard Armory in Mason City to Interstate 35 in Clear Lake to give members of the 1133rd a supportive send-off to Fort McCoy in 1990.  There were flags and banners to show the guardsmen they will be remembered while serving out country.

Lions claw their way to District Championship

For the first time since 1988, the Clear Lake boys cross country team will be returning to the State Cross Country Meet.

The Lions finished first in the field of 15 at the 2A State Qualifying Meet held at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Clear Lake sophomore Gretchen Jones also qualified for State as an individual for a second time.

With four runners finishing in the top 10, it is no surprise that the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boy’s cross country team captured the title and will be heading to the State Meet.

The Lady Lions had their best meet of the year in a district that had six of the 15 ranked teams participating.  The team finished eighth with one State qualifier. Gretchen Jones ran a great race to finish 10th in a time of 20:25.
