Becker and Murray win annual Walleye Classic

The team of Jeff Becker and David Murray captured top honors in the Clear Lake Fishing Club’s annual Walleye Classic held Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17 on Clear Lake.  The local team brought in 25.33 pounds of walleye to win the $2,500 top prize.

Resident escapes apartment fire

Fire caused an estimated $50,000 damage to a Clear Lake home early Sunday morning.

The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to a house fire dispatched at 1:26 a.m. at 309 S. 8th St.  Clear Lake police officers found smoke and flames in an upstairs

Private Clear Lake preschool considers expanding to PK-3

Clear Lake Classical, established in 2014 as a non-profit organization offering a private, Christian preschool in Clear Lake, is looking to expand to offer kindergarten, first and second grade in the 2015-16 school year.

An information meeting to discuss the proposed expansion will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 1310 U.S. Highway 18 West, Clear Lake.

Holiday hours for newspaper

The Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter office, 12 N. 4th St., will be closed

 Wedneday and Thursday, Dec. 24-25. 

The office will close at noon Wednesday, Dec. 31.  Normal deadlines are in effect for the next issue of the newspaper.
