The Clear Lake girls track team is on fire.  Not only are they breaking records, but on Thursday night, May 5, on their home track, they accomplished a feat that hasn’t been done since 1998.  They won the North Central Conference Meet.  The Lions won the eight-team field with 165 points.  Humboldt was second with 99 points.

It was another record breaking night for the Clear Lake boys track team.  For the first time since the early 80’s, the team won back-to-back North Central Conference titles.  The NCC meet was run on Thursday, May 5, at Iowa Falls-Alden High School.

On Saturday, Clear Lake hosted the first-ever North Central Conference Boys Tennis Tournament. The Lions won the conference title with a total of 27 points.  

Fort Dodge St. Edmond finished as runner-up with 20 points.  Webster City was third with nine, followed by Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Iowa Falls-Alden, each with eight points.

CL team proves every stroke counts

Every stroke counts; losing on a fifth score tie-breaker proves that theory.

Clear Lake and Hampton-Dumont’s boys golf teams each carded 162 using their top four scorers Monday, May 2, at Highland Country Club in Hampton.  However, the Bulldogs captured the win with a better fifth score.    Ruben Salinas’ 44 lifted H-D.  Taylor Plagge and Dylan Bieber each carded 49s for the Lions.
