Steven M. Ward, 74, of Bella Vista, Ark., died April 30, 2022, at Circle of Life Hospice House, in Bentonville, Ark.  

He was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Ames, Iowa to Meredith and Norene (Klein) Ward.

Gerald John Schwade, 76, of Nora Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, after a courageous three-and-a-half year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a fighter until his final day.

CL police assist in North Iowa drug bust

The Clear Lake Police Department was part of a multi-agency effort to execute six search warrants as part of an investigation into a methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution group in the North Iowa Area.

On Thursday, May 5, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department, with the assistance of 11 other agencies, executed search warrants at the following Mason City locations:

•1637 N. Delaware Ave.

•1633 N. Delaware Ave.

•18 14th St. N.E.

•1224 N. Washington Ave., Apt. 1
