Boys track team wins Osage Invite

It was a big week for the Clear Lake boys track program.  Not only did Clear Lake send two relays to the Drake Relays, there was success in the program from the varsity level down to junior high.  The varsity team, the JV team and the junior high team all earned championships on Tuesday night, April 26.

It was a rough week for the Clear Lake girls tennis team.  The Lions were blanked by Osage Monday, April 25, and Iowa Falls-Alden the following day.

Loss fuels boys tennis team to shut-out

A close loss to Aplington-Parkersburg Monday fueled the Clear Lake boys tennis team for a shutout against Iowa Falls-Alden the next day.

Against A-P, the Lions evenly split singles matches, with Ben Loge, Cabot Neuberger and Carter Markwardt picking up wins. However, Clear Lake’s top two players, Jaxson Gerhardt and Loge were the only double team able to snatch a victory and the Lions were defeated, 5-4.

The Clear Lake girls track team competed in two meets last week.

Forest City

The Clear Lake girls competed in the Forest City Indian Relays on Tuesday, April 26.  The team posted some personal records on their way to a fourth place finish in the six-team field.  The Lions finished with 94.5 points.  Forest City won the met with 149 points.

IF-A tops Clear Lake girls soccer team twice

The Lions battled the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets twice in the past week, with both games ending with the Cadets on top.

IF-A shut out the Clear Lake girls in both meetings.  Game one ended in a 4-0 loss at home.  On the road, the Cadets prevailed, 5-0.
