It was a big weekend on the blue oval, with Clear Lake sending both girls and boys events to the Drake Relays, held Thursday-Saturday, April 28-30, in Des Moines.

The Clear Lake boys golf team battled North Central Conference foes as the regular season winds down.

CL 165, Humboldt 169, Algona 207

The Lions hosted a triangular with Algona and Humboldt April 22 and came away with wins.  Clear Lake edged Humboldt by four strokes for top honors.

Iowa high school golf perennial powers are well represented in the Class 3A First Spring Rankings released by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association.

The Clear Lake girls golf team is ranked second in Class 3A  in the IHSGCA poll.  The Lions and another North Central Conference team, Humboldt, are second and third behind top ranked Gilbert.

CL boys soccer team tops Mason City falls to IF-A

The Clear Lake boys soccer team moved to 3-4 overall last week by splitting matches with Iowa Falls-Alden and Mason City.  The score was 1-0 in both contests.  

After hosting Webster City Monday, the Lions are at Humboldt Thursday.

Boys track team wins Osage Invite

It was a big week for the Clear Lake boys track program.  Not only did Clear Lake send two relays to the Drake Relays, there was success in the program from the varsity level down to junior high.  The varsity team, the JV team and the junior high team all earned championships on Tuesday night, April 26.
