In the summer of cancellations, there is finally something to look forward to!

The City of Clear Lake has announced it will hold a brief dedication ceremony for its new Splash Pad complex at City Beach at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, and then open it up to the public to enjoy during the long Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Non-profits face fundraising challenge with creativity

It’s been said that gardening is an exercise in optimism.  That’s probably never been more true— especially for those involved with Central Gardens of North Iowa.

Charlene Joy Thoreson, 88, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, 1310 US Highway 18, Clear Lake, with Rev. Chris McComic officiating.

  Visitation will be held from 12:45-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church or to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.
