Slates have been finalized for the November General Election for cities and school districts.

In Clear Lake, there will not be a contested race in the three council seats on the ballot.  However, there will be some minor change.

Major changes are coming in February 2020 for the Cerro Gordo County Wind Farm south of Clear Lake.  NextEra Energy Resources LLC has announced that it will replace 55 turbines with 15 new ones which will generate the same amount of energy.

Despite the hot and muggy weather conditions on Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Clear Lake cross country team faired well at the Belmond Cross Country Meet.  Both the boys and girls teams finished in the top five.

Coach Richie Ellis says it felt like deja vu all over again last week.  The Lions (4-6) traveled to Webster City Thursday, then hosted a triangular with Mason City and Charles City Thursday.  Both nights the Lions came up short.
