Council signs agreements to get ready for major 2020 capital improvements

Clear Lake City Administrator Scott Flory said recent City Council agendas are a clear example of the 2019 budget year wrapping up and things to come.  At its most recent meeting the Council approved three professional services agreements for capital projects scheduled for fiscal year 2020, which begins in less than one month.

Lions go 1-1 in league games last week

Clear Lake began North Central Conference play last week with mixed success.  The Lions went 1-1 in league games and added two non-conference victories to their early season results, putting them at 3-5 for the week ending June 7.

Webster City 8, CL 2

Clear Lake ran into some stiff competition in its North Central Conference opener played Monday, June 3.  The Lions fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Webster City.

The Clear Lake softball team struggled to get a win, dropping three games last week.

Webster City rallied for two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh for a 5-2 win over Clear Lake in North Central Conference softball Monday, June 3.

An exciting 10-9 victory as CL team downs GHV

Clear Lake broke a three-game losing streak with an exciting 10-9 win in eight innings over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Thursday, June 6.   The game was  tied at 9-9 with Clear Lake batting in the bottom of the eighth inning when an error scored the winning run for the Lions.

Slow starts continue to plague the Lions.

CL tops GHV in close, but fun contest

Clear Lake held off Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 8-7, in a non-conference baseball game played Thursday.  The game was characterized as “fun” by both coaches, who saw their squads give it their all.
