Richard  Lyle “Dick” Hill, 95, of Mason City, Iowa formerly Clear Lake, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Greg Gosnell officiating.  Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.  Military Honors will be presented by the Mason City American Legion.

William A. Morrison

William A. “Bill” Morrison, 58, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at his home.

Per his wishes he will be cremated and services will be held at a later time.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Family suggests memorials to William A. Morrison memorial fund.

Christine M. Muff, 63, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Opportunity Village, in Clear Lake.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Kinney Lindstrom Center at Opportunity Village, with Fr. Jim Dubert officiating.  A rosary will follow the service at 4:30 p.m. with a visitation from 5 to 7 P.M.  Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, in Garner, Iowa.

  Memorials may be directed to Opportunity Village, in Clear Lake.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at Galilean Lutheran Church, 4454 255th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor Scot McCloskey officiating.  Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.

Mother Nature finally allows paving to begin on MC-CL link

The long anticipated paving of County Road B-35 has begun and forecasted dry days ahead should increase the likelihood the $3.1 million project will be completed by late fall.

According to County Engineer Mary Kelly, with reasonable weather, the Clear Lake to Mason City connection could be open by mid-November, or Thanksgiving.
