Chris E. Bowcock, 61, of Palm City, Fla. unexpectedly passed away on June 21, 2016.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Chris Bowcock will be held on Friday, July 29, at 6 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 710 North Kentucky Ave., Mason City, Iowa, with Pastor Jason Miner officiating.

Pamela R. “Pam” Raddatz, 70, of Omro, Wis., died Wednesday morning, July 13, 2016.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at noon, in Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., in Omro.

Born on Jan. 7, 1946, in Clear Lake, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Heidecker) Ward. Pam married Steven Raddatz on May 25, 1984, in Oshkosh, Wis.

A memorial and celebration of life for Maxine Atkinson will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, at 2 p.m.  A reception will follow at the Clear Lake Yacht Club.

Maxine passed away on Dec. 11, 2015, while living in Texas near her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The wooden boat used in the famous movie, “On Golden Pond” was the centerpiece for the 18th annual Clear Lake Antique and Classic Boat Show Saturday. “Thayer IV” was recently restored by Sunrise River Boat Works, of Forest Lake, Minn.  It, along with other classic wood and fiberglass boats manufactured between the 1920s and 1960s were displayed on land and in the water.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

City moves ahead with capital projects

The Clear Lake City Council will start the ball rolling for one of the major capital improvement projects budgeted for 2017 next week.

A request for proposals will be distributed to three local engineering firms interested in preparing and overseeing reconstruction of 14th Avenue North between North 8th Street and the east return of Logan Drive. The scope of services in the RFP includes field work, survey, design, special assessment plat and schedule, bidding and construction observation and administration.
