The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to a report of a  dock collapsing with possible juveniles in the water at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at the Ritz Park, located at 15406 Crane Street, Clear Lake.

Mason City Assessor Dana Naumann and County Assessor John Boedeker have announced that door-to-door inspections of all residential properties in Mason City and Cerro Gordo County will begin approximately June 1, 2016.

A reappraisal program was approved by the Conference Boards in 2013.

Post #4868 led the processional from the Sea Wall to the Clear Lake Cemetery during Memorial Day services in 1991.  A flag was raised and a wreath tossed into the lake in brief services at the Sea Wall before adjoining to the cemetery, where the speaker of the day was James Latham.

Post #4868 led the processional from the Sea Wall to the Clear Lake Cemetery during Memorial Day services in 1991.  A flag was raised and a wreath tossed into the lake in brief services at the Sea Wall before adjoining to the cemetery, where the speaker of the day was James Latham.

Jones defends State Tennis title

Clear Lake High School senior Sam Jones capped off a dominating senior year by successfully defending his Class 1A State Tennis title.  Jones claimed his second State Championship Saturday.

The doubles team of Ben Mason and Jacob Peterson earned a fourth place finish at the State Meet.

Lions finish fourth at State Golf Tournament

The Clear Lake boys golf team made a run at a State title, even holding a two-stroke lead after day one, but the Lions had a tough day two and finished fourth in the Class 2A field at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.  Panorama, Panora outdistanced the field with 604.  St. Edmond was runner-up with 613 and Kemper Catholic, Carroll was third with 614.  The Lions finished with 618.
