A remembrance and memorial celebration for Frederick Fritz Clausen, open to the public, is to be held 3 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015,  at Clausen’s Cove, Clear Lake.

Fritz’ family and friends are encouraged to join the remembrance and to share personal recollections, tales, stories and legends related to Fritz and his family.

Marie D. Nissen, 98, of Clear Lake, passed away Oct. 23, 2015, at Oakwood Care Center.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dan Jordan officiating.  Burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery.

  Family Suggests memorial contributions to the Evangelical Free Church.

The City of Clear Lake has filed a lawsuit against two brothers in connection with an April accident in which a police car driven by Lt. Paul Chizek was struck by a truck.  The city is seeking an $8,890.36 judgment against Steven Orta, 21, and Ryan Orta, 29, both of Mason City, for damage to the police car.

Lion boys are NCC cross country champs

For the first time since 1988 Clear Lake has brought home a North Conference cross country championship.

On the course that will host the State Championship Oct. 31, the Clear Lake boys cross country team ran their best meet of the year.  The success was due to a true team effort, as every runner gave it their all.
