This is an example page. It's different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

“Let’s Dance” says the brick in front of the Surf Ballroom, along with the names of Pauline and Dick Nickerson.  Nothing could be more appropriate.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the Nickerson’s anniversary does, too.  On Feb. 18, 

CL teachers ask for 7.11 percent pay increase

The Clear Lake Education Association (CLEA) made its initial contract proposal--   a proposed 7.11 percent total package increase in salary and benefits for the 2015-16 school year-- to the Clear Lake School Board Monday. The package includes the District’s notification of a 4.29 percent health insurance premium increase. 

The Board of Education made its first contract offer during its regularly scheduled Feb. 23 meeting.

Contracts are negotiated for 190 days of service.

Private Clear Lake preschool considers expanding to PK-3

Clear Lake Classical, established in 2014 as a non-profit organization offering a private, Christian preschool in Clear Lake, is looking to expand to offer kindergarten, first and second grade in the 2015-16 school year.

An information meeting to discuss the proposed expansion will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 1310 U.S. Highway 18 West, Clear Lake.  

Harold R. Trimble

Harold R. Trimble, 93, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating.  Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa, with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.   

Dorothy A. Hoblit

Dorothy Ann Hoblit, 88, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.  

Due to her wishes she was cremated and no services will be held at this time.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Mosher

Ronald “Ron” Mosher, 85, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Clear Lake, passed away on Jan. 15, 2015.  A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Calvary Christian Church, in Hastings.

Ronald Clare Mosher was born on April 25, 1929, in Dumont, Iowa, the son of Clare and Frida (Andersen) Mosher.  He went to school in Clear Lake and graduated with the class of 1947.
