NTSB releases report about Mercy Air Med crash

Factual report focuses on weather conditions
 The National Transportation Safety Board released a full factual report last week about the Jan. 2, 2013 helicopter crash in which three medical workers lost their lives. However, the agency has not yet made a statement concerning the cause of the crash.

Air Choice One chosen to serve MC Airport

 Monday, the Department of Transportation awarded a two-year EAS contract to St. Louis based airline, Air Choice One.
Air Choice One is set to begin service out of the Mason City Municipal Airport in early November 2014. The area’s new air carrier is also introducing a new hub to the citizens of Mason City – Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Chicago O’Hare is the second largest international airport in the United States.

Police: Theives are looking for openings

 Clear Lake police are encouraging residents to keep all doors locked and remove keys from vehicles in the wake of a rash of burglaries and thefts in the past week
A total of 18 burglaries and thefts have been reported to the Clear Lake Police Department between Aug. 9 and 18, according to Christina Yates, civilian support 

Area bikers participate in Canton Cycling Classic

Three area bike enthusiasts participated in the Canton Cycling Classic bike races held Aug. 9 and 10 in Canton, S.D. The event was part of the Midwest Flyover Series.

Oak Hills hold Junior Open Golf Tournament

 Gary Lee Garlinghouse, 58, Mason City, Iowa, went to be with our heavenly father on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City.
