Charles Jackson “Jack” Kennedy was born in Clear Lake on Nov. 12, 1924 to Mary (Williams) and Samuel Kennedy Jr. and passed on March 31, 2022. 

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St, Clear Lake, with Pastor Steve Bang officiating. Burial will be held in Clear Lake Cemetery where Military Honors will take place. A luncheon will take place at the church following the burial. 

Virginia Maxine Copas-Baxter, 94, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Oakwood Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on March 28, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Fr. Josh Link, celebrant. She was laid to rest at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 27, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. A scripture service was held.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Virginia Baxter.

Marlys Younkin, 85, of Gilman, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital comfortably in her sleep.

Services for Marlys were held on Friday, April 1, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. A visitation for family and friends was held one hour prior to services.
