There may be something to the old adage that when one door closes, another opens.

Days after the Clear Lake Senior Center was shuttered, a local entity has stepped up to provide seniors with a place to gather.

The Clear Lake Lions outlasted Garner-Hayfield-Ventura for an exciting Homecoming win, 28-21. 

Coach Jared DeVries noted Homecoming can be a week filled with many distractions for his student-athletes, and some of the Lion miscues in the game may support his theory.

Revenge was sweet for the Clear Lake girls last week.

Less than a week after Algona topped the Lions, 2-1, in a North Central Conference battle, the Lions pulled out a 3-2 victory in front of a supportive Homecoming crowd.

Less than a week after Algona topped the Lions, 2-1, in a North Central Conference battle, the Lions pulled out a 3-2 victory in front of a supportive Homecoming crowd.

Boys win title, girls runner-up at Humboldt Invitational

Fifteenth ranked (2A) Clear Lake finished 79-points ahead of seventh ranked (1A) Fort Dodge St. Edmond to claim the team title at the Humboldt Invitational held Tuesday, Sept. 21.

“I challenged the boys before the race to not just win, but dominate and I could not have been more impressed with the result,” said Head Coach Tyler Havens.
