The season begins... finally!

Clear Lake High School’s football season began last week, but not exactly as scheduled.  Thunderstorms-- and ultimately a tornado warning, forced the postponement of Friday night’s game with Iowa Falls-Alden.  The Cadets returned Saturday morning for an 11 a.m.

School district awarded $100K mental health grant

Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education have announced over $8.6 million in competitive grants will be awarded to 64 school districts to assist them in providing mental health support and other wraparound services to students and families.

The Clear Lake School District will receive $100,000.

City offices closed Monday; Trash, recycling delayed

City offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 6, for the Labor Day holiday.  Other city offices and facilities will be closed, as well.  Emergency calls for police, fire, ambulance and streets can be made by dialing 9-1-1.

Trash collection and recycling routes will be delayed one day of the week of Sept. 6.
