Boys soccer team off to a perfect start

For the first time since 2015, the Clear Lake boys soccer team is off to a 3-0 start.  Last week the Lions posted victories over Hampton-Dumont-CAL and New Hampton.

This week the Lions are at Webster City Thursday, April 22, and at a Boone tournament Saturday.

For the first time since 2015, the Clear Lake boys soccer team is off to a 3-0 start.  Last week the Lions posted victories over Hampton-Dumont-CAL and New Hampton.

This week the Lions are at Webster City Thursday, April 22, and at a Boone tournament Saturday.

The Lion defense has been fierce in the early going and last week it helped to produce two victories.  Clear Lake shut out Belmond-Klemme and held Hampton-Dumont-CAL to just one goal.

Boys tennis faces tough team

The Clear Lake boys tennis team played a very talented and deep Decorah Vikings team on Friday, April 16. The Lions lost the match, 9-0.  

Coach Rich Peters reported Justin Kerr battled hard at number three singles before dropping a 6-3, 6-2 decision. The two and three doubles teams lost 6-4 sets.

Jaxson Gerhardt (CL) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Gabrial Anderson

Ben Loge (CL) lost 6-0, 6-1 to Daniel Skraty

Boys track team wins Chickasaw Invite

The Clear Lake boys track team had two regularly scheduled meets canceled last week due to North Iowa weather, but they were able to find replacement meets to compete at.

Lions win season opener

Andrew Crane and Eric Ritter each shot a round of 40 and shared medalist honors in Clear Lake’s win over New Hampton Monday, April 12.  The Lions defeated the Chickasaws in New Hampton, 166-188, in their season-opener.

Easton DeVries and Josh Blaha also contributed to the winning team score with rounds of 42 and 44 respectively.  Also competing for the Lions was Gavin Anderson (46) and Taylor Plagge (53).
