Charlene Joy Thoreson, 88, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 22, 2020, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, 1310 US Highway 18, Clear Lake, with Rev. Chris McComic officiating.

  Visitation will be held from 12:45-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church or to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, in Mason City.

Lions move record to 2-2 with a win and two losses

The Lions (2-2) fell 8-4 to Dike-New Hartford on Tuesday, June 16, despite out-hitting them eight to six.

The Wolverines got things moving in the second inning, when an error scored two runs for the home team.  They pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning.

The Clear Lake girls (1-3) earned their first victory of the season Tuesday in a 12-6 non-conference tilt with Mason City.  The Lions recorded the win despite a big push by Mason City in the fourth inning.  Four of the Mohawks’ six-runs crossed home plate in the fourth.
