The Clear Lake softball team went to extra innings in their first game of the season on Monday, June 15, but fell to Iowa Falls-Alden, 4-2.

(Above) Poll worker Becky Butz used a lag time at the City Hall voting site to wipe down the table where voters checked in. Special precautions were taken to address COVID-19 concerns at the Tuesday vote.  The number of polling sites in the county was reduced by about half.  Voter turnout was characterized as good, with about 20 percent of eligible voters taking part, many by absentee ballot.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

COVID-19 puts the brakes on car show

After much discussion, the C.L.A.S.S. Car Club has decided to cancel its 2020 C.L.A.S.S. Car Show.  The event was scheduled to be held on Saturday, Aug. 8.  In conjunction with the car show, the club also hosts a car cruise, which was to be held on Friday, Aug. 7.  That event has not officially been canceled.  The club will make that decision closer to the date.
