DeVries nominated for induction into College Football Hall of Fame

Clear Lake Head Football Coach Jared DeVries has been placed on the 2021 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced the names of 78 players and seven coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 99 players and 33 coaches from the divisional ranks June 16.

Graduation day has finally arrived for the Clear Lake High School Class of 2020.  Class members will receive their diplomas in a scaled-back ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, June 21, in the high school gymnasium.

Donald Wayne Ashland

Donald Wayne Ashland, 93, of Clear Lake, died Friday, June 12, 2020, at Good Shepherd Health Center, in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. John Ashland officiating. Inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868 Honor Guard.
