Dale R. Anderson

Dale Ross Anderson, 60, of Clear Lake, and graduate of CAL High School, Latimer, died unexpectedly of natural causes on April 8, 2020.

A visitation was held on Sunday, May 3, at Andrews Funeral Home, Klemme. His final resting place will be at the Hampton Municipal Cemetery, Hampton.

Dale, the youngest child of Berle and Genevieve (Ahrens) Anderson, was born Aug. 24, 1959, in Hampton. During his school years Dale enjoyed participating in sports and setting records in football, baseball, and basketball.

Annabelle L. Vajgert, 63, of Mason City, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the MercyOne Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

(Above) Field work in 1970 - Loren Baker was one of the many farmers taking advantages of the beautiful weather on May 2, 1970.  Baker was planting corn south of Clear Lake on the east side of Highway 107.  Baker, who farms 260 acres, will plant this 60 acre field with half corn and half beans.

Students surprise teachers with a parade

It’s hard to tell who misses regular school days more, the students or the teachers?  “Kids are missing their teachers and their teachers are missing their students,” said Summer Bendickson, whose son Zade is a second grader and Zellah is a kindergartener.  Bendickson organized a drive-by parade last week, complete with a police car escort and students waving with signs from car windows and sun roofs, for Clear Lake teachers Kelly Cooney (pictured) and Kim Quintus.
