CL girls suffer first loss of the season

Ninth ranked (4A) Waverley-Shell Rock handed the Clear Lake girls their first loss of the season last week, but the Lions responded with wins over Humboldt and Forest City.  Clear Lake, which had been ranked second all season, dropped to fifth in Class 3A with the loss. They are now 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the North Central Conference.

Clear Lake High School recognized Mikayla Vanderploeg, Chase Stuver and Mac Adams for earning a place in the 4X4 Sport Club.  To achieve this accomplishment a student must have participated in four sports each year for the four years of their high school career.  Each received a trophy in honor of this tremendous accomplishment.  -Reporter photo by Chris Barragy

The Clear Lake boys hit the ground running in the second half of their season.  The Lions played three games last week and came away with two wins, putting their record at 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the North Central Conference.
