Patricia A. “Pat” Anderson

Patricia A. “Pat” Anderson, 89, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. She lived most of her life in Clear Lake and moved to Des Moines in the fall of 2016 to be close to her son, Rick’s, family.

According to Pat’s wishes, a Celebration of Life service will be held in the spring. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Pat’s name to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.

After hearing from just one person concerning its intention to issue $700,000 in General Obligation Bonds to support construction of a community wellness center, the Clear Lake City Council moved ahead with its proposed partnership with the school district for the project.

School district sets public meetings to discuss $18 million bond referendum

The Clear Lake Community School District has planned a series of public information meetings to discuss details on its upcoming bond referendum.

On March 3, the district is seeking passage of $18 million in general obligation bonds to fund several school projects, as well as a community wellness center which would be built in partnership with the City of Clear Lake.

In addition to the wellness center, the bond issue will include projects at each school building, as well as Lions Field.

Watts announces re-election run for county supervisor post

Chris Watts has announced he will seek re-election to Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors, District 3.

Watts was first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2016, defeating Democrat Phil Dougherty.  Dougherty had served for 16 years in that role until Watts defeated him after previous attempts.
