This year the University of Northern Iowa recognized the student leadership that comes from Clear Lake schools by selecting not one, but two CLHS grads as candidates on their Homecoming court.

Wilma J. Knop, 87, of Ventura, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus, in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Garner, with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating.  According to her wishes, she was cremated following the service.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Wilma Esther Amundson, 85, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at the IOOF Home, in Mason City.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Bob Snitzer officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery, in Clear Lake.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Leslie E. “Les” Nelson, 91, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct.19, at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kent Wagner officiating.  Burial was at Brush Point Cemetery, in Fertile.
