The Clear Lake volleyball team dove into the 2018 season with six matches at the Clarion Tournament Saturday.  The Lions finished with a record of 2-4 in match play and a 7-8 set record.

Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the appointees to the Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. The Initiative is made up of three task forces which will focus on these topics:

Investing in Rural Iowa, Growing Rural Iowa, and Connecting Rural Iowa. They will identify needed legislative, regulatory and policy changes. Each of the three taskforces will make recommendations to the Governor.

Fire department warns residents of fundraiser scam

The Clear Lake Fire Department is warning residents to be aware of a possible scam.

CLFD Public Information Officers Josh Pokorney and Dave Sims said the department was notified last week of a group promoting a fund raiser in the area for the “Clear Lake Area Volunteer Firefighter Drive.”
