The public has helped Clear Lake police to make two arrests in connection with an Aug. 27 report of a stolen Sea-Doo personal watercraft and trailer, valued at $3,500 from a business parking lot on Highway 18.

Clear Lake will begin search for interim Middle School principal

The Clear Lake School Board met in special session Tuesday morning to discuss filling its Middle School principal position with an interim leader.

Superintendent Doug Gee said Principal Steve Kwikkel, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, is unable to continue his duties due to his health.  According to Gee, the district will look to hire an interim principal for the rest of the 2018-19 school year.

Gloria J. Hegland, 72, of Mason City, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, with pastor Jason Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, 1224 South Washington Avenue, Mason City.

Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Lawrence (Larry) Cronin, Jr., 94, of Clear Lake, finished the race on Aug. 19, 2018, in Mason City, and now rests in eternal Glory.

A visitation and memorial service were held on Aug. 23, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines.  Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions should be made to Blank Children’s Hospital; Faith Baptist Church, of Mason City, or Toys for Tots.
