The Clear Lake volleyball team tangled with the Webster City Lynx at home last week, then participated in a triangular with Mason City and Charles City.  The Lions went 0-3 during the week, dropping their record to 2-8 overall.

GHV volleyball team moves record to 4-5

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura volleyball team moved their record to 4-5, with a win and a loss in regular play and a record of 2-2 from the Belmond-Klemme tournament played on Saturday.

It took five games to determine the winner when GHV faced Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura volleyball team moved their record to 4-5, with a win and a loss in regular play and a record of 2-2 from the Belmond-Klemme tournament played on Saturday.

CL boys win Belmond meet; Faught places second

With the threat of severe weather looming all around, the Clear Lake cross country team ran its best meet of the year so far.

The boys started the race night off at Belmond Tuesday, Sept. 4.  The Lions finished first in a 12-team field with a total of 34 points, beating West Fork by 25 points.

Eric Faught returned to form, placing second in a time of 18:32.

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls cross country team competed at the Belmond-Klemme meet held on Tuesday, Sept. 4. at the Belmond Country Club.  The Cardinals did well, placing fourth in the 10-team field with 127 points.  Eagle Grove won the meet with 51-points, while St. Edmonds was second with 56-points and West Fork followed with 89-points.
