Clear Lake City Council members gave their enthusiastic approval to the idea of accepting proposals for the sale and redevelopment of a city-owned property at 100 S. 15th St.  The metal cold-storage building, which City Administrator Scott Flory called “an eyesore for a great many years,” is being sold as-is.

Former CLHS student-athlete files lawsuit against school district

A former student at Clear Lake High School has filed a civil lawsuit against the school district for injuries connected to his participation in weight training for the school’s football team and other extra curricular activities.

Parker Kyle Crispin, a 2017 CLHS graduate, claims to have suffered severe, continuous and permanent bodily injury because of required weight training sessions.

Mother Goose - A tale of survival (and a happy ending)

(Above) Back on April 18, a nesting goose at the Ventura Marsh became completely buried by several inches of heavy, wet snow.  Remaining faithful to her mission, the dedicated bird refused to eat, drink, or even shake off the snow for fear of chilling her eggs.  The effort has paid off.  On May 2, the goose became the proud mother of seven healthy goslings-Photos by Lowell Washburn..

Remember When 5-9-2018

(Above) Big load in 1914 - Verne Peterson was the driver of his father’s first truck purchased in 1914.  Peter Knutson, Clarence Knutson’s father, and Fred Peterson stand on the sidewalk.  The other men on George Peterson’s truck are not identified. The Renz Variety Store was located in what is now K & B Emporium.  The other building is what is now the Lake Theatre.
