It was an off night for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura soccer team, as they fell to Nevada, 3-0, in the first round of Class 1A Substate, played on Monday, May 21, in Nevada.

GHV softball team tops Northwood-Kensett, 11-7

The Cardinal bats were hot on Wednesday, May 23, when GHV traveled to Northwood-Kensett.  Twelve hits helped the Cards to an 11-7 victory.

“We had multiple girls step up in big situations and get the job done,” said first year head coach Kaitlin Murphy.  “It was great to see all the pieces fall into place today.”

The Clear Lake Fire Department was dispatched to 19738 Heather Ave. for a reported structure fire, on Monday, May 28, at approximately 10:29 p.m. The building was owned by Richard and Cherie Oehlert.

(Above) The Island Queen - The Island Queen was brought to Clear Lake in 1873. The boat was kept busy carrying passengers to and from the island, which was a playground for summer visitors and Clear Lake residents, and is where the famous Island House was located.  The boat was the second steamboat on the lake.  She was 47 ft. long, 9 ft. wide and 5 ft.
