joined the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter as editor when Prefin acquired the newspaper from Mid-America Publishing Corp. in 1983. She performs a variety of duties, including coverage of city government and school issues, as well as all aspects of the news department. Following graduation from Newman High School in Mason City, she earned a BA degree in Journalism from Iowa State University.

Bradley A. Blazek, 59, of Clear Lake, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.   Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Dan Gerrietts officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service.  Interment will take place in Elmwood-St.

Konrad Arthur Ottersberg, 82, of Clear Lake, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Pat Hall officiating. Burial will be in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, Iowa, at a later date.
