After months of speculation, Casey’s General Stores has confirmed it is in the process of closing on the purchase of the Barrel Drive-In property on Highway 18 West.

Construction began this summer on the East Main Ave. street reconstruction project and as of this week, the street has been opened for traffic.  The project was expected to be completed by Nov. 3, 2017, so the project was right on schedule.

Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 and Auxiliary is ready to kickoff a $100,000 capital campaign to fund a veterans memorial to be located in the courtyard of their Main Avenue Post, 219 Main Ave.  The kickoff, which will include an overview of the plan, an opportunity to view an illustration of the project and ask questions of committee members, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11.

Fourth rated Waukon brought Clear Lake’s football season to a close Friday night in the opening round of Class 3A play-offs.  The Indians started fast and never looked back on their way to a 46-16 victory.
