(Above) Young’s Idleo, 1910 - In 1910, Contractor George Petersen and his crew constructed Young’s Idleo (pleasure hall) for R.S. Young. Michael Duane Fatland, age 70, of Mason City, Iowa, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa, with his family by his side.

Ralph Frederick Schroeder, 98, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Troy Jeremy Smeby, 42, of Swaledale, Iowa, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, in rural Swaledale.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, 313 Elder St., Klemme, Iowa, with Pastor Brian Lund officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Township Cemetery in rural Swaledale.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake.
