Willy Green has had a lot of practice telling stories.  His children and grandchildren have mainly been the benefactors of his storytelling skills, but now, thanks to some help from his daughter, Amy Palmer, everyone can experience Willy’s imagination.

Healthy food will be there for the picking

Grant will bring Edible Landscape idea to Clear Lake, North Iowa

The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health was recently awarded a $4,254 grant from The Wellmark Foundation to fund their Edible Landscapes project. Grants were awarded to projects intended to make Iowa communities more active or improve access to healthy foods. To receive this grant, community support needed to be shown through voting. The community pulled through and voted for the county’s project through Facebook.

Remember When 12-28-2016

(Above) Santa’s helpers, 1966 - Eldon Vine, left, and Ken Smith, helped Santa Claus distribute Christmas gifts to needy boys and girls in 1966.  The toys were mended and painted by Jaycee members after being given to them by Clear Lake residents.
