Shaw earns spot in school history books

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura wrestling team moved their record to 1-3 in dual action.

The Cardinals competed in a dual against Eagle Grove and West Hancock on Thursday, Dec. 1.  GHV fell to Eagle Grove, 46-35, and to Eagle Grove 45-33.  Austin Case (113), Zach Eichman (120), Jace Pringnitz (138), Colyn Schoneman (160) and Conner Shaw (170 and 182) all went 2-0 for the night.

(Above) Petersen’s Bathhouse, circa 1900 - Toboggan slide at Petersen’s Bathhouse, ca. 1900.  This was the first bathhouse constructed by George Petersen, a Danish immigrant – carpenter and contractor.  The 20 x 30 ft. bathhouse included 35 conveniently arranged dressing rooms.

Iris M. Faust

Iris Muriel (Bienert) Faust, 83, of Clear Lake, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

Per Iris’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, Samaritan’s Purse or the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church.

Christie Grattidge

Christie Ann (Hansen) Grattidge, 61, of Clear Lake, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.

Per Christie’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at the Clear Lake VFW, 219 Main Ave., Clear Lake.  Inurnment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to the Christie Grattidge Memorial Fund.
