The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura softball team had a week of ups and downs.  The Cardinals managed only one win, but showed some promise on offense.

Shaun Cesar, Clear Lake, passed away on June 15, 2016.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 4 - 6:30 pm.  The service will be at 5 pm.  The celebration will be held on the Lady of the Lake dockside, Clear Lake.  Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

CLHS renovation proceeding on schedule

Work is proceeding on schedule for a new entrance and expansion/renovation project at Clear Lake High School.

Project Manager Tyler Mensink, from Dean Snyder Construction in Clear Lake, said demolition has been completed inside and outside for the $2,104,000 project.   Currently, the former courtyard is being readied for new flooring to be poured which will extend the current cafeteria dining space and office to the north.

County Road B-35 closed between Clear Lake and Mason City

County road B-35 between Clear Lake and Mason City is now closed to through traffic.

The well-traveled road between the two communities was officially closed Monday, June 13, to ready it for a $3.1 million construction project.  Completion is expected in late September.

The project involves a two-and-one-half mile stretch along “Old Highway 106” between Lark and Jonquil Avenues.  Detours can be expected and will be posted.
