Clear Lake’s Restoration and Enhancement [CLEAR] Project is the best thing to happen here in our lifetime.  This is a true statement for anyone – regardless of their age – who happens to be reading today’s column.  It’s a bold claim, to be sure; but also one that is easy to back up.

Carolyn Rosella Albers, 89, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa

A memorial service was held on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St. Clear Lake, with Pastor Paul Evans officiating.  Inurnment was in Ell Township Cemetery, in Klemme, Iowa.

  Family suggests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of North Iowa or to Hospice of North Iowa.

(Above) North Iowa Band Festival, 1991 -Jason Skinner, percussion section leader for the Clear Lake High School Marching Band in 1991, keeps the unit in step during the North Iowa Band Festival held the beginning of June in Mason City.  The Clear Lake band was awarded second place in the Class 3A competition.
