Lester "Les"  Ernest Godden, 91, of Mason City, formerly of Clear Lake, went to heaven on April, 2016, to be with his wife, Jean.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake.  Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Monday, April 4 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.

William "Bill" H. Varty, Clear Lake, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016, in Hays, Kansas.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6 at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.  A visitation will be held at 10 a.m.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and Human Society of  North Iowa.

Jon Lowell Jensen

Jon Lowell Jensen, 87, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.  Jon's family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2 at First Congregational United Church of Christ,  Mason City.  A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church..  Memorials  may be directed to First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mason City or a charity of the donor's choice.

Jon Lowell Jensen, 87, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa, of Parkinson’s disease.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 2, at First Congregational Church of Christ, Mason City, with the Rev. Chuck Kelsey officiating.  A time of food and fellowship followed the service at the church.  A private inurnment in the church’s columbarium will also be held on Saturday.

County plans informational meeting about B35 project

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors will have a public informational meeting at their regularly scheduled Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 5, at 10 a.m. to discuss the upcoming County Road B35 Roadway Improvement Project.  The Board meeting will take place at the Courthouse, 220 North Washington Avenue, Mason City.

The meeting will be held to inform affected persons along the project of the scope of work to be completed during the project and the intended sequence and schedule to complete the work.
