TeamQuest announces workforce reduction

Thirty-two will lose jobs in North Iowa

TeamQuest, a Clear Lake based company, has notified employees of a planned workforce reduction effective April 22, 2016.  The restructure plans will eliminate 32 positions from the North Central Iowa area.

City will lend VFW money for memorial concept creation

Plans for a Veterans Memorial at the former water tower site near City Beach are proceeding.

Monday night the Clear Lake City Council approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Nelson Crabb to sign a loan agreement on behalf of the city with Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 to fund a concept design for a proposed veterans memorial.

Michael R. Freeden, 57, of Clear Lake, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center – West Lakes in West Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial services were held on Monday, March 21, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, with Pastor Jeni Bohls, of St. James Lutheran Church and Pastor Rich Murray, with Opportunity Village officiating.  Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Eleanor Manganiello

Eleanor Manganiello, 91, of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Hospice of North Iowa, in Mason City. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 18, at First Reformed Church, in Meservey, Iowa, with the Rev. Rodney Meester presiding. Interment was at the Meservey Cemetery. Eleanor Mae (Faaborg) Manganiello was born on the family farm in Meservey, Iowa on August 1, 1924, the daughter of Andrew and Lillie (Barkema) Faaborg. She attended Meservey Public School, graduating with the class of 1941. She then attended the Minneapolis School of Business.
