Leah Peters, 85, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.  A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Family suggests  memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

Judith Mae "Judy" Neuberger, 71, of Garner, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.  The family will greet friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, and then one hour before the service on Saturday at the Church.  Family suggests memorials to Opportunity Village or a charity of your choice.

Following days of below average temperatures and punctuated with high winds, the ice was declared “out” on Clear Lake Wednesday, March 16.  At that time the lake level was measured as 5.40 inches above the weir at the Outlet, according to Paul J. Fredriksen, superintendent of the Clear Lake Water Department.  “Ice-in” was declared by officials at the Water Treatment Plant on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015.
